My older son was 9 at his school sports day.
He knew a few kids there, but one of his close friends didn't show up that day. The other kids were already in their little groups, running around together.
He stayed off to the side, just watching.
I could tell he wanted to join in. But he didn't know how. And honestly, I didn't know how to help him from where I was standing.
That moment hurt more than I expected. I remember feeling helpless. Like I had somehow missed teaching him something important. Not math. Not reading. Not homework. Something real.
How do you walk over to kids you don't know well? What do you say first? What do you do when it feels awkward? How do you try without feeling embarrassed?
That day stayed with me.
I went looking for resources that could help. I found a lot of advice. A lot of nice words. A lot of "be confident" type lessons.
But that wasn't what I was looking for. I wanted him to practice the small thinking steps behind confidence.
So I started building lessons for my own boys. The first one was about the exact thing my son needed that day: making one small first move with a kid you don't know yet.
That lesson became Lesson 1 of the Friendship Skills pack. Once I'd built one, I realized the same gap was everywhere.
Kids need help with friendship, money, confidence, and making choices when no one is standing beside them telling them what to do.
That is why I created LifeSchool Packs. Each pack gives children short stories, real-life choices, simple questions, and reflection practice. The goal is to help them stop, think, and choose well.
I built it for my boys first. Now I'm building it for other families too.
